Resizing a picture
Open blank document in Microsoft Word.
In Microsoft Word, to insert an image you go to the 4th label in the menu bar and click Insert, then scroll down to the tab labeled Picture, click Clipart then find the any image and click it to put it in your document.
When you insert the image there will be little boxes at the corners and in the middle of the corners to adjust the image to the size you need. Then click and hold the image to place it where you want. To insert it into the text, or change the appearance of the image. Right click on the image, click Edit picture, click Layout to change it, or to change the appearance(color) click Format Picture, if you cannot find the the Edit Picture toolbar, go to View, Toolbar, and put a check in the box next to picture. Use caution when resizing, you may distort the image. Take a few minutes to adjust it and place it where you would like. Finally close and do not save.

Copying and Pasting a Graphic
Graphics can be cut or copied and pasted in the same way text can. The same clicks and keystokes apply to graphics just like text. We will create a letter to the UIL students, add a graphic, and copy it. First open a new document and key the following:
Dear Parents,
UIL is quickly approaching and there are a few details we need to go over. UIL will be held at Jasper on Saturday, april7, 1999. We will need to leave our school parking lot at 7:00 a.m., so please have your child here by 6:45. We will return to school at 3:00 p.m. Your child needs to bring money for lunch and/or snacks. Thank you for all of your help and encouragement as we have prepared for this event.
Sincerely,
(Your name)
We will import a graphic at the top of the letter. We will copy it several time to make a top border. First save the document. Name the document what you wish(meaning name it what you want). Put your cursor infront of the D in Dear Parents and hit Enter twice. Then put the cursor above the letter.

Now we need to import a picture.
1. click Insert
2. click Picture
3. click Clip art
4. insert the ribbon you see below

Copying a Graphic
Click once on the graphic if resizing handles are not visible, to copy the graphic, right-click, copy, or Ctrl C, and lastly click Edit Copy
Pasting a Graphic
After you copy you need to paste, to do so you, Ctrl V, or Edit Paste, and lastly right-click paste, do make the border at the top, you will need to paste several times. You will noticed when pasting, the graphics are now placed on top of each other at an angle, you will need to adjust each graphic to your liking. You will noticed when pasting, the graphics, are now placed on top of each other at an angle.(To move a graphic, click and hold the graphic to move it, then release the mouse to keep the graphic in place)

Grouping a Graphic
The down side of having multiple graphics is moving them. One way to move them is grouping them. To do this take the following steps.
1. Highlight each of the "pieces" of the graphics that you want to group. To highlight multiple peices, hold down the Shift key while clicking an each graphic should appear.
2. Once all parts have been selected, click on the Draw Tool on the bottom of the screen and click on Group. (If that toolbar is not visible, click on View, Toolbars, Drawing. Then follow the previous steps.
Select the graphic, the whole graphic will be selected not just a piece of it. Drag it to the bottom of the page. Drag it back to the top. The words are probably underneath the picture.Later we will tell you what to do fix sentence.
Ungrouping a Graphic
Sometimes you'll want to ungroup a graphic so that you can make changes to it. If you try to change, it will change the whole thing. To change the property of one ungroup then regroup when done. To ungroup take the following steps.
1. Select the graphic by clicking on it once
2. Click Draw (on the drawing toolbar at the bottom of the screen)
3. Click ungroup
We're going to change the color of the ribbons. we need to ungroup the individual ribbons.
1. Right click on the ribbon
2. Click on Edit Edit picture
Now change the color Click on the lower of the ribbon. click drop down arrow next to paint can. change color.
Now let's change the colors on a few more. Use the same steps as before.
1. Click on the lower portion of the graphic.
2. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the Paint Bucket.
3. Choose another color.
Click lower portion of ribbon choice color you want, then apply. Choose a different color for each ribbon. Now you need to re-group the pieces again so that you can move the entire graphic later.
1. Hold down the Shift key and click on each part of the graphic to select all peices.
2. Click Draw on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen

Text Wrapping
We are going to show you how to wrap text.
1. Right click on your picture and click on Format Picture
2. then click on the Layout tab
3. Choose your style
Let's put it on our document. Do the following:
1. Drag your graphic to the top of the page.
2. If it is overlapping Double Click the graphic
3. Click on the wrapping tab
4. Choose top & bottom
5. Click ok
The text should have moved below the graphic. Even of you move the graphic down the text will move down.

Let's add a graphic and have the text wrap around the graphic with the graphic to the side of the text. Take the following steps.
1. Click Insert
2. Click Picture
3. Click Clip Art
4. Choose a picture to make it small enough to fit on 3-4 lines of text.
5. Resize your picture to make it small enough to fit on 3-4 lines of text. Drag the picture to the left side of the page.(the picture will drop below the text so we will adjust the wrapping later.
6. Right click the picture and click on Format Picture
7. Click on the Layout tab
8. choose your style(tight)
9. Drag picture to the left side of the document.
10. Done!

Inserting Graphics fron Another Source
You might find a picture on the internet that you might like to use. If so, depending on where you saved it, you can use it in your document. Choose Insert, and Picture, you choose From File. Find a location for the graphic then click on it.
Adding to a Graphic
You can add lines, shapes, and colors to your graphic, just to name a few.
Lets import a graphic and add some details to it.
Open a new document, click Insert, Picture, Clipart, type in american flag and scroll down till you see the smiley with the Uncle Sam hat holding the flag, click on it, right click on the picture, the click on the flag part of the picture, here you can change the color of the flag, lets change it to green

Now adjust the flag to the size you want, any size, or you could change it completely using the drawing tool bar, first delete the current flag by clicking it and hitting back space, then go to the drawing toolbar and pick the shape you want, change it to the color you want, and size.
Now save the document and your have you master piece
